About Rainbow

  • I am a Ruby Macaw. That means I am half Scarlet and half Green Wing
  • I was hatched in Dover, New Hampshire on August 14, 1995
  • I weigh in at 2.2 pounds (1 Kilo)
  • I can live for well over 100 years. If taken care of I hear rumor that I could reach 200
  • My tail feathers can get as long as 23 to 24 inches. Papa sells them on ebay for real money. How funny, I grow them free.. ROTFL. Fly fishermen use them to make flies. (I think it would be easier for them to catch a real fly) Papa gives my small yellow, red, orange and blue feathers to American Indians. They use them in all sorts of ceremony's. I was told they place my feathers with their recently passed loved ones to help take them to the other side.
  • I am extremely intelligent and need daily socialization and stimulation so that I stay tame and friendly. I get bored quite easily, so I need plenty of toys to play with. (Please send me some) I was Handfed and raised so I am very affectionate, but like all Macaws I can be rather noisy at times.
  • I started riding a motorcycle with Papa in 2003, I am not tied down in any way, I have full flight and need it just in case papa has an accident.

    I can stay put at speeds as fast as 85 so far. (On Papa's new Heritage I have now gone over 85 Miles Per Hour) But I do not like it. I love to ride at speeds of 45 and below. More people can point at me that way.. I also ride with papa on his bicycle. I can speak over 160 words and phrases but I am loud so papa and oma tell me to be quite a lot. I can do a few tricks, you will have to find me out riding with papa to know what they are. Papa likes to ride his motorcycle to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire and York and Old Orchard Beach, Maine. If you see us it is ok to step right up and say hello. We really enjoy meeting everyone of you. For the first time ever, October 8, 2011 I rode on the Shoulder of a Stunt Bicycle rider at the Topsfield Fair. (Maximum Velocity www.MVST.com) They jumped while sitting on a stunt riders shoulder at the top of a very high ramp. Then Papa put me on a Stunt Riders shoulder and I did my first ever Bicycle trick. About Pictures

  • Papa likes to take pictures of me playing with my friends.
  • Pictures are almost always free and any money he accepts for a picture goes to my favorite places, Like The PORTSMOUTH, NH SALVATION ARMY and other local food banks
  • All money is donated to the soup kitchen or for food for families in need.
  • We do not keep a single penny. Papa donates his time and materials.
  • Please feel free to download any picture you like. Feel free to share it with your friends and family. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER YOU CAN NEVER USE ANY PICTURE OF ME FOR COMMERCIAL USE OR PROFIT. If you want to use my pictures for profit you have to get permission from papa in writing and all proceeds he is paid will go to the Salvation Army.

  • Papa and I never ask for money for our pictures, but a lot of you try hard to give us a $5 or $10 spot. We seldom take it on the streets.
  • If you like a picture and would like to make a donation please use one of the following links. Everything you donate (minus any fees the processing company charges) will go to the Salvation Army or a local food bank to help feed people in our local communities.
